How do you open the grinder to add salt or pepper?

A wonderful question. Mine were still half-full, so I had to go down to the kitchen to experiment. You pull straight up on the metal top, and the top comes off. I don't recommend doing it unless the grinder is fairly empty, as when I did it it came off suddenly and I had some salt to clean up. I'd been wondering how to turn the base to adjust the grind. I was happy with the coarseness, but curious. There are little dents in the base, and you put your fingers in the dents to turn the base so the arrow lines up with the size of grind you wish to have. I like mine very much!
