Messermeister Avanta Kendrick BBQ 8" Chef Knife

This black titanium-coated, hollow-ground chef knife is made for big proteins and everyday board work, from slicing rested brisket to breaking down a whole chicken. The 80/20 hollow grind is designed to help reduce drag on longer cuts, and the rocker profile supports smooth rocking chops.

An 8" blade gives you enough length for confident slicing on brisket or roasts while still feeling easy to control on a cutting board. It’s a practical go-to size when you want one knife to cover most prep.

The black titanium coating is designed to add extra rust resistance, which is helpful when you’re moving between the grill and the kitchen. For best results, follow the care guidance that comes with your knife, and make a habit of cleaning it soon after use and drying it before storing.

A deeper rocker encourages a fluid rocking motion, which can be especially useful for repeated chopping. Keep the tip on the board and lift the heel through the cut to take advantage of the curve.

It was created in collaboration with Bennie Kendrick, known as The King of Backyard BBQ. The goal is a versatile chef knife that feels just as useful for cookout carving as it does for Tuesday-night prep.

Messermeister was founded in 1981 and is a women-owned, California-based company with deep German heritage. The name comes from the German words for knife and master, and the brand is led by Debra Dressler and her daughters Kirsten and Chelcea.
