WÜSTHOF Performer Chef Knife, 8"

A chef knife with a hydrophobic blade surface is designed for day-to-day kitchen prep, including cutting, slicing and chopping. The hydrophobic blade surface is meant to promote smooth slicing, which can help ingredients move more easily along the blade as you work.

The next-gen blade coating is designed to add durability to the blade surface and help resist damage and heat. It is described as a technology conceived originally for space travel and motor sports, bringing a modern, performance-focused finish to a classic chef knife.

The honeycomb handle is shaped to feel steady in hand and its textured pattern is intended to support a secure grip. That extra traction can be especially helpful when you are moving quickly through prep.

It is manufactured in Solingen, Germany, known as the City of Blades. The design reflects Wüsthof’s long tradition of knife making and a focus on precision craftsmanship.

For best long-term performance, follow the care instructions that come with the knife. To help protect the edge and handle over time, many cooks prefer to wash and dry their knives promptly and store them in a way that prevents the blade from knocking against other tools.
